- Explanation of the context in which dry needling exists in relation to traditional acupuncture
- An explanation of some of the current proposed mechanisms of action and range of effects of dry needling
- Health and safety regulations and requirements as outlined in the new “APA Guidelines for The Safe Practice of Acupuncture”
- Contraindications , warnings and incident management as outlined in the new “APA Guidelines for The Safe Practice of Acupuncture”
- Introduction to the dry needling plus approach to musculoskeletal needling

- Basic needle insertion technique
- Trigger point needling demonstration and practice
- Differention and practice of 5 dry needling plus techniques
- Compentency assessement of needling of the vulnerable region of the thorax
