  • Explanation of the context in which dry needling exists in relation to traditional acupuncture
  • An explanation of some of the current proposed mechanisms of action and range of effects of dry needling
  • Health and safety regulations and requirements as outlined in the new “APA Guidelines for The Safe Practice of Acupuncture”
  • Contraindications , warnings and incident management as outlined in the new “APA Guidelines for The Safe Practice of Acupuncture”
  • Introduction to the dry needling plus approach to musculoskeletal needling

  • Basic needle insertion technique
  • Trigger point needling demonstration and practice
  • Differention and practice of 5 dry needling plus techniques
  • Compentency assessement of needling of the vulnerable region of the thorax
